MicroRave NZ – Terms & Conditions

Wairarapa Web Design Ltd trading as MicroRave NZ
(“MicroRave NZ”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) provides DJ performance services and PA/equipment hire within New Zealand.
By booking or making payment, the client (“you” or “the client”) agrees to the following terms and conditions.

1. Bookings and Payments

1.1 A 40% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking date for either DJ performance or equipment hire.
1.2 The remaining 60% balance is due no later than 14 days (2 weeks) prior to the event date.
1.3 Bookings are only confirmed once the deposit is received and acknowledged in writing by MicroRave NZ.
1.4 Late or non-payment may result in cancellation of the booking without refund of any deposit paid.
1.5 Any additional services, equipment, or time extensions requested outside the agreed scope may incur extra charges.

2. DJ Performance Terms

2.1 DJ hire covers the date(s), time(s), and location(s) confirmed in writing at the time of booking.
2.2 Changes to event date, time, or venue are subject to availability and may incur additional fees.
2.3 MicroRave NZ will provide professional DJ services with appropriate equipment, setup, and sound levels suitable for the venue.
2.4 The client must ensure:

• Safe and adequate power supply is available at the venue.

• Reasonable access for setup and pack-down (minimum 60 minutes each side unless otherwise agreed).

• Protection from rain, wind, or other weather if the event is outdoors.
  2.5 If the DJ is required to stay on-site for extended periods (e.g., over 4 hours), suitable access to water, shelter, and bathroom facilities must be provided.
  2.6 If MicroRave NZ must cancel due to illness, emergency, or events beyond our control, all payments received (including deposits) will be refunded in full.
  2.7 MicroRave NZ is not liable for any delays or disruptions caused by factors beyond our control (e.g., power outages, extreme weather, traffic delays).
  2.8 The client is responsible for ensuring all venue noise limits, consents, or permits are obtained in advance.

3. Equipment Hire Terms

3.1 All hired equipment remains the property of MicroRave NZ.
3.2 Equipment hire covers the period confirmed at booking. Late returns will incur additional charges.
3.3 A refundable bond/deposit may be required at MicroRave NZ’s discretion. This bond is returned after inspection of all equipment, provided no damage, loss, or late return has occurred.
3.4 The client must:

• Use the equipment only for its intended purpose.

• Keep all equipment protected from rain, liquids, heat, and dust.

• Ensure it is operated safely and only by competent persons.
  3.5 The client accepts full responsibility for any loss, theft, or damage (including cosmetic, electrical, or mechanical) that occurs during the hire period.
  3.6 Any damaged or missing items will be charged to the client at full repair or replacement cost.
  3.7 Equipment must not be modified, opened, altered, or sub-hired to third parties without written consent.
  3.8 Equipment must be returned in the same condition it was received, clean and in working order.
  3.9 The client is responsible for providing a suitable vehicle and safe transport conditions if collecting/returning the gear themselves.
  3.10 MicroRave NZ reserves the right to substitute equipment of equivalent performance if booked items become unavailable.
  3.11 If MicroRave NZ cancels the hire due to unforeseen circumstances, a full refund of all payments made will be issued.

4. Cancellations and Refunds

4.1 The 40% deposit is non-refundable in the event of client cancellation.
4.2 If the client cancels within 14 days of the event, the full booking amount may still be payable.
4.3 Cancellations due to force majeure (e.g., natural disaster, pandemic restrictions) will be handled on a case-by-case basis, with deposits transferable to a future date where possible.
4.4 MicroRave NZ reserves the right to cancel at any time if the event environment is deemed unsafe or unsuitable for setup or performance (e.g., exposure to rain, risk of electrocution, aggressive behaviour).

5. Liability and Indemnity

5.1 MicroRave NZ takes no responsibility for injury, loss, or damage to persons or property arising from the use or misuse of hired equipment or services.
5.2 The client agrees to indemnify MicroRave NZ against any claims, damages, or costs arising from the event or the client’s use of the equipment.
5.3 MicroRave NZ’s total liability, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, will not exceed the total amount paid for the booking.

6. Acceptance of Terms

By confirming your booking in writing or making payment (deposit or in full), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
