School Disco Fun at Kahutara Hall – Kahutara School Event
Kids discos are not generally our thing. But the recent school disco for Kahutara School, held at Kahutara Hall near Featherston, was an absolute blast! The event, DJed by MicroRave’s DJ Dan, brought together kids, teachers, and parents for an evening of laughter, high-energy dancing, and unforgettable moments.
As the kids stormed the dancefloor, the energy in the hall was contagious. From enthusiastic group dances to impromptu conga lines, the night was a perfect mix of organized chaos and pure joy. The playlist, featuring songs requested by the students, kept the crowd buzzing throughout the night.
Some of the highlights included modern chart-toppers like Dua Lipa’s “Dance the Night” and Nicky Youre’s “Sunroof”, alongside classics like House of Pain’s “Jump Around” and Queen’s “We Will Rock You.” A blend of nostalgic hits such as Spice Girls’ “Wannabe” (Motiv 8 Vocal Slam Mix) and remixes like Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida (Choujaa & Epsylon Remix)” ensured there was something for everyone.
The full playlist, now available on SoundCloud, captures the night’s vibrant atmosphere. Tracks like “Tones and I – Dance Monkey,” “Ed Sheeran – Bad Habits,” and the crowd-favorite “Mark Ronson feat. Bruno Mars – Uptown Funk” set the tone for an electrifying evening.
Kahutara Hall provided the perfect setting for this event, accommodating the lively crowd with ease. Parents and teachers were instrumental in organizing the event, ensuring it was a safe and fun environment for the children.
The Kahutara School disco was a shining example of how music and community come together to create memorable experiences. It was an honor to DJ this event, and I’m already looking forward to the next one!
